SKILLCert ("we", "our", or "us") respects the privacy of users ("you", "your") and handles personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. This is an English translation of the original Japanese Privacy Policy. In case of any discrepancy between the Japanese and English versions, the Japanese version shall prevail.

3. Third-Party Provision and Outsourcing

  1. We do not provide personal information to third parties except where required by law or with the user's consent.
  2. In providing the Service, we may outsource operations to cloud service providers, customer support providers, analytics tool providers, and others. In such cases, we conclude necessary and appropriate contracts and supervise the contractors.

    Specifically, we share data only with: Amazon Web Services (infrastructure), Google (Cloud / Gemini API / Firebase Cloud Messaging), OpenAI (AI tutor and diagnosis), Apple / Google (subscription billing), RevenueCat (subscription management), and Google AdMob (advertising on the free plan).

4. Handling of AI Generation and Analysis

  1. We use learning logs and ranking information in statistical / anonymized form to improve the accuracy of AI question generation, analysis, and diagnosis.
  2. Anonymized information and statistical information may be provided externally for purposes such as research and development, quality improvement, and report creation, but will not be disclosed to third parties in a personally identifiable form.

To prevent leakage, loss, or damage of personal information, we implement security measures such as access control, encryption of storage and communications, permission management, log auditing, and vulnerability countermeasures.

6. Handling of Messages, Battle Chat, and Timeline

  1. 1-on-1 messages, in-battle chat, and timeline (SNS) posts and replies are stored for a certain period for service provision, fraud prevention, and user protection.
  2. Under a block relationship, we may restrict functions such as profile viewing between the parties, message sending/receiving, battle invitations and battle chat, and timeline interaction.
  3. In case of legal requests or when serious guideline violations are suspected, we may check the content of messages, chats, and posts.

7. Push Notifications

  1. We may obtain notification tokens from user devices to send push notifications such as battle room creation notices and study reminders.
  2. Notification reception can be stopped at any time from the OS settings on the device and the in-app notification settings.

8. Disclosure, Correction, and Deletion

Users may request disclosure, correction, suspension of use, or deletion of their personal information through our prescribed procedures. Note that some information may not be immediately deletable to the extent of legal obligations or as necessary for service operation.

We may revise this Policy in response to changes in laws or service content. When making important changes, we will notify users through in-app display or other appropriate methods. The latest version is posted in the app or on a site designated by us.

We use cloud services and data may be handled on servers located outside Japan. Even in such cases, we handle personal information with appropriate protective measures in accordance with applicable laws. Data is primarily processed and stored on AWS infrastructure located in the Asia-Pacific (Tokyo) region; some processing (AI services) may occur in regions outside Japan as managed by service providers.

  1. On the free plan, we display ads (including video ads) provided by Google AdMob (Google LLC) within the Service. No ads are shown on the paid plans (Lite, Standard, Premium).
  2. For ad delivery, impression/effectiveness measurement, and fraud prevention, Google and its advertising partners may collect and use advertising identifiers (advertising ID), device information, IP address, and ad impression/interaction history.

  4. You can limit personalized ads through your device settings (Android: reset advertising ID / opt out of ad personalization; iOS: App Tracking Transparency settings).
  5. If you prefer not to see ads, you can upgrade to a paid plan.
